Hall & Kay were appointed to deliver a full sprinkler retrofit project at a major UK retail distribution centre in Burton upon Trent for a leading high street healthcare retailer.
The 24/7 operational facility required comprehensive fire protection upgrades to meet FM Global Standards, including the protection of new high bay automated storage systems and existing racking. Retrofitting sprinkler protection within a live distribution environment presents significant logistical and operational challenges, however, the facility remained fully operational throughout the works, servicing nationwide retail and operations.
Our Project Manager said “Challenging project, but once we sat down and agreed a tight sequencing plan which included day and night working , it worked really well and both the customers operations had no interruptions whilst we worked around the clock to retrofit the Sprinkler system.”
H&K have been really proactive throughout each stage of the project they helped us with insurance company approval. It was a demanding project where we needed them to move quickly for the auto store protection and overall the team have done a great job in a challenging operational environment.
