In the face of unprecedented global climate challenges, H&K is
committed to taking decisive action to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, in line with the Paris Agreement.


Our 1.5°C Roadmap outlines a comprehensive strategy to achieve this ambitious yet crucial goal, reinforcing our dedication to sustainability and responsible stewardship of our planet.

Our Progress:
- Introduced a sustainable supplier charter across key supply chain
- Increased use of third party verified EDPs and CIBSE TM65 assessments, with further rollout in 2026
- Partnered with consultants to measure full Scope 3 emissions and align with ISO 14064 verification standards
Focus ahead: Continue to embed sustainable procurement principles and provide high quality whole life carbon data for clients.

- Achieved real Living Wage employer status
- Became a Disability Committed Employer
- Launched “Sustainable Living Hub” to support employees with energy efficiency, cost saving, and lifestyle improvements
- Introduced electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme to support lower carbon commuting

- Introduced two paid volunteering days for all employees
- Delivered annual fundraising activities for charity partner Macmillan, raising £15,172 in
2025 - Transitioned to a sustainable pension provider with ESG focused investment options

Our Planet.
Our goal: Tackling the Climate
and Nature Emergency.
Our Progress:
- Installed monthly water meter reads including updating an old meter to a new smart meter
- Implemented SMART and/or verified electricity metering across all sites, supported by zero carbon or renewable energy supply
- Achieved a combined office waste recycling rate of 78%
- Transitioned 50% of fleet to electric and hybrid vehicles
Focus ahead: Achieve 100% renewable electricity supply across all offices, further increase recycling rates and continue to decarbonise fleet.
